Larger canes are used for a Swedish massage technique, and shorter bamboo tools are used for deeper, more direct pressure. They are used as extensions of the therapists hands to target specific muscles and muscle groups. The treatment begins with a rhythmic striking technique to warm the muscles, then the bamboo is used to roll and knead away muscle tension.
